30 May 2012 (Wild Duck Campground Scarborough, Maine)

This was an over night stop for us on our way to Bar Harbor. This is a small privately owned "adults only" campground. It's a very quiet and well maintained park, that backs up to a tidal marsh. The tide was out when we took these pictures. The laundry and bathrooms were very clean. I would highly recommend this park for an extended stay. It's located
about 5 miles to the ocean, and the tourist hotel areas.

28-29 May 2012 (Worden Pond Campground, Wakefield Rhode Island)

We checked in here yesterday afternoon after the Memorial Day crowd had left. This park is located just inside Rhode Island off of exit 4. Its an older family owned park, about 5 minutes from the local beaches. This is kind of a no frills place. The sites have water and electric only with no sewers, only a dump site. Each camp spot has its own rock camp fire area which is very unique. They all have one large big boulder as a back stop and some smaller rocks around the sides. There are no paved roads in this park, and some of the trees need to be cut back for easy parking of your rig. This would be a good lay over place for a few days, especially if you like laying out at the beach. The cheesy thing about this campground is the pay showers......50 cents. This is the first time I've had to pay to take a shower. And, no the bathroom are not all that nice. If fact its kinda of an open air bathroom with a screen door.

25-27 May 2012 (Camp Adventure Resort Pocono Mts PA)

25 May 2012      We checked in here this afternoon.  The spots they had reserved for us were both awful.  Both spots were poorly maintained, with knee high grass and tree limbs that had to be cut back before we could use them.  The 30 amp power on our site wasn't functional, and had to be repaired before we could use it.  Both spots are very narrow and treacherous to walk around. It kinda reminds me of that time at Stone Mountain where Geri broke her leg.
The park it self is massive, with a large lake in the middle.  It consists of mostly park model homes (95%).  The majority of which look run down and filthy.  The grass through out the park has not been cut in quite a while, and helps to make the park look unsightly.  They do have a gated entrance, with a private security company.  The pool and club house areas are very nice and well kept.  The lake is also fairly well kept up. I have not been inside any of the bathroom areas.  I'm still working up my courage for that. The resort staff was helpfull and very nice.  We will be here till the morning of the 28th, and then on to the beach area of Rhode Island

Uncle Bill and I booked a tour of DC.  This was the way to go.  We saw a lot of sites and got to spend time walking around Arlington Cemetery, the Vietnam Wall Memorial and the Lincoln Memorial which were my three must see.

Acres and acres of grave stones

We had a great time here and now we are off to Pennsylvania, soon I will make it to a beach.

21 May 2012 Washington DC

Here are a few pics from the first of two day trips to DC. When they say wear comfortable shoes, they know what they are talking about. The Metro Rail System is the way to go. We got off in front of the Smithsonian, and walked the mall.
