This is a resort in the Coast to Coast reciprocal system. This park is a little unusual as compared to the type of parks we normally like to stay at. Parts of this park are very nice, but at the same time some parts are very run down. They have an extremely nice club house. It is a large 3 tier building with a double stair case, a large dining hall, restaurant, water garden with hot tub, and a nice view of the lake and complex. The nicer part of the park for camping can be found on the way up the hill to the club house. You will find lots of nice wooded spots. All of the spots are back in. We saw no pull through sites in the park. The rest of the park was a mix of full time residences, most of which have ugly wooden porches attached. A lot of the full timers have very well kept trailers and nice yards. The park also has a small motel down by the boat launch. Lakeside Resort is located about 15 miles west of I-95 just over the Virginia line, in the Lake Gaston area. Wi-fi was kind of a ripoff ($5 a day) The folks in the office that sold the service, neglected to tell me that the service would not work at my sight. I later found out from asking the locals that the Wi-fi only worked in the club house up on the top of the hill. Bathrooms were not as clean as they could have been. Our camping site all though paved was a back in, and very tight to get into. The grass was also very long (the girls don't like it on their bellies) and not well kept. Lakeside is not a campground I would go back to.
