8 June 2012, Loch lomond Resort, Amherst NS

We checked in to the Loch Lomond resort (NS) this afternoon about 1pm (Canadian Time).  More about the campground after we've had a chance to experience it.  We gained an hour yesterday when we crossed the border into Canada.  Surprisingly, its not raining!  We finally have a bright sun shiny day.  The wind however is pretty gusty, the camper is rocking pretty good.  That's probably why there are so many wind turbines here.  That's actually the first thing we noticed when we crossed the border from British Columbia into Nova Scotia.  The trip up from St. Andrews wasn't all that bad.  The Canadians are renovating their highway systems, and route 1 (Trans-continental Hwy) has allot of sections being re-done.  The sections that are finished are awesome.  These folks really know how to build a road!  The trip from St. Andrews took us about 5 hours including all the stops. We spent about an hour at the welcome center and had lunch.  We later realized that the campground was only about 5 minutes up the road.  We plan on taking a quick trip in to Amherst this afternoon and check things out.  More to follow..............
