We started our trip in the small town of Joggins. Joggins has a neat fossil museum with a beautiful view of Chignecto Bay. This bay empties out pretty good during low tide. There's lots of shale rocks all along the bottom, and some fossilized trees sticking up. From Joggins we traveled down the coast line. The 60 mile coastal road down to Advocate Harbor was terrible. We encountered numerous hills and twisty, turning roads that were riddled with cracks and pot holes. There were times when we thought a Georgia dirt road would have been smoother. There were however some really nice views along the way. We came across several empty tidal creek beds, and even a darting black bear on the side of the road.

We stopped for lunch at a really nice restaurant in Advocate Harbor (Bay of Fundy). This restaurant was an old converted cape cod type house. The food and service was awesome. After lunch we drove down the street and looked at the fishing boats tide up to the docks. The tide was out so the boats were sitting on the bottom of the harbor with their hulls and props exposed. From Avocate we continued down the coast line tward Parrsboro. Our next stop was the Spencer Island light house. The light house was really interesting. As you walk in, there were lots of old framed pictures and articles telling the history of the light house and the ghost ship "Mary Celest". The light house was not maned. You could buy lots of different souvenirs inside, and just place your money in the donation box on your way out. Just out side the light house was a small RV park. Talk about a perfect place to camp, right on the ocean! From Spencer Island we traveled to Parrsboro. Parrsboro is a small town at the mouth of the Minas Basin. We walked along the rocky beach there and had some coffee. We left Parrsboro and headed back toward home to get some pictures of the Chignecto Bay (Joggins) at high tide.
