May 28 and 30, 2012 Catching up

Okay I’m a little behind; you know I’m retired so it doesn’t matter.  Rhode Island is a nice state.  I got to go to several beaches there.   I didn’t find many shells, but you know every day is different at the beach.  Slipper, clam and mussel shells are the most common.

There are a bunch of state parks around here but it costs anywhere between $10.00 and $20.00 just to park.  I think they charge more for non-residents.  You can park along street if you can a place, it is still a little early for people up here.  Here are some pictures.

water is beautiful, clear and cold.

May 30, Scarborough, Maine, I could spend the whole summer here.  Sam told you about the campground, which I loved but the whole area looks interesting.  Quite a number of beaches in the area, water is still pretty chilly.  It was still foggy even though it was after one in the afternoon, not many beach goers.  I did find a piece of a sand dollar and a couple of clam shells but that is all.

We only stayed one night, hopefully we will come back and stay longer.  I also want to mention that all the bushes and flowers are in bloom and are gorgeous.  These are bushes and get tall as trees and come in various colors, red, pink, white, fuchsia.  I think I even saw some orange but it might have been a different type.  Irises are everywhere.  Beautiful.
